The company was founded in 1924 by Josep Mata Capellades, who began building cellars and pioneered the production of Brut Nature and the use of the Xarel lo variety. Over the decades, Recaredo has maintained its commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and innovation, adopting practices such as the use of natural cork stoppers, biodynamic agriculture, and having its processes certified by Bureau Veritas since 2003. The company has passed through several family generations, consolidating its identity as a producer of long-aged, terroir-based sparkling wines. It has been a pioneer in the production of single-vineyard sparkling wines and the use of its own yeasts. In 2018, it joined the Corpinnat collective brand, which distinguishes quality sparkling wines from the Penedès region.

The company specializes in vintage Brut Nature sparkling wines, made exclusively with grapes from its own vineyards and traditional Penedès varieties, especially Xarel·lo. Its notable products include Turó d'en Mota, Recaredo Terrers, Recaredo Intens Rosat, Recaredo Subtil, Recaredo Serral del Vell, Reserva Particular de Recaredo, and special editions such as Enoteca Turó d'en Mota and Recaredo Tribut 1996.
